Beatrice “Mabea” Marotto Vitanza

Beatrice “Mabea” Marotto Vitanza, 95, formerly of Ashville, N.Y., passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

Beatrice was born on January 20, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Leone DeMarco.

Beatrice graduated from Jamestown High School in 1947. She went to Robert’s Beautician Shop in Buffalo, N.Y. from 1948- 1950. She was a beautician at My Beauty Box on Fairfield Avenue for several years. Beatrice was co-owner at Red Coach Inn and she was a Sous Chef. She worked with Josie Caprino catering the Kitchen Shop.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Lakewood American Legion Post 1286. Beatrice loved to cook and made delicious Pizzelle Cookies. She loved to dance and swim. Her main priority was raising and caring for her family she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Marotto and her second husband, Joseph Vitanza; her daughter: Brenda Emory; a son: Richard Marotto; her brother: Nicholas DeMarco; half- brother: Jack DeMarco; a sister: Edna Weiss; a grandson: Michael Emory; a son-in-law: Bryan Emory and a daughter-in-law: Debbie Marotto.

Beatrice is survived by a son: David Marotto of Daytona Beach, FL; Grandchildren: David Marotto (Jamie Mosher), Bryon (Jessica) Emory, Tony (Debbie) Marotto and Taylor Smith (Kevin Lowe); daughter- in- law: Robin Smith (caretaker); great-grandchildren: Brandon, Brent, Alexis and Kami Marotto, Megan and Courtney Emory; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 E. 5th Street, Jamestown, N.Y. on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, NY.
