JHS Names April Students Of Month

Abbie Derby
Jamestown High School officials recently named the school’s Students of the Month for May.
They are:
Abbie Derby, a senior and the daughter of Tom and Marcia Derby. Abbie is a member of the A Capella Choir and Full Orchestra, as well as the treasurer of National Honor Society and secretary of Concert Band. She is also co-captain of the girls varsity bowling team. Abbie is a two time state champion in bowling, and is in the top 20% of her class. She spends most of her time bowling, however when she is not, she is at home playing the drum set. After graduation she will attend Niagara University to study psychology and be a part of the Division I bowling team.
McKenzie Pickett, a junior and daughter of Dawn and John Pickett. McKenzie is Junior Class secretary. She plays the flute in the Concert Band, is a soprano in the A Cappella Choir, and is part of the choir at St. Luke’s church. She is a member of both the girls indoor and outdoor track and field teams. In her spare time, McKenzie enjoys listening to music and participating in activities at youth group, as well as participating in musicals. After graduation, she plans to attend college to study nursing.
Hayden Langford, a sophomore and the son of Ben and Lisa Langford. Hayden is part of the JHS Marching Band, Concert Band, and A Capella Choir. He also participates in the musical production every year. He is a member of the varsity tennis team. In his spare time he volunteers at his church, where he is a part of the livestream tech team. After graduation he plans to attend college and major in aeronautical engineering.

Allysen Petteys
Allysen Petteys, a freshman and the daughter of Alan Petteys and Raechel Connell. Allysen is a part of the People of Poetry club, Raider Readers, Key Club, and the Dungeons and Dragons club. After graduation, she plans to start her own business.
