Johnson, Gonzalez, Farmer Receive All-ECIC Honors

Jamestown's Jaydian Johnson was named the ECIC overall and Division 1 Player of the Year.

Three members of the Jamestown boys basketball team who spearheaded its ride to the New York State Public High School Athletic Class AAA final four have been recognized by the Erie County Interscholastic Conference for their outstanding seasons.

Leading the way is senior guard Jaydian Johnson, who was named the ECIC Division 1 and All-ECIC Player of the Year after averaging 23.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game. For his career, Johnson is fourth all-time in points (1,320); is sixth in both assists (299) and in 3-point field goals (152); and is tied for ninth in steals (145).

Joining Johnson with postseason recognition are juniors Dominic Gonzalez and Elijah Farmer.

Gonzalez, a guard, averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game, earning ECIC Division I First-Team honors and All-ECIC Second-Team recognition.

Farmer, a forward, was also an ECIC Division 1 First-Team choice and a Second-Team All-ECIC selection after averaging 15.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

Jamestown's Elijah Farmer was named an ECIC Division 1 first-team all-star.

As a team, Jamestown was the ECIC Division 1 and Section VI Class AAA champions; and defeated Rush-Henrietta 69-64 in the Far West Regional to advance to the state tournament in Binghamton. Although the Red & Green lost to Port Washington in the semifinals, it finished the season 19-4, improving head coach Billy Miley’s two-year record to 40-9.
