Randolph Edges Olean 6-3 In Extra Innings

OLEAN — The Randolph girls softball team blew a lead in the bottom of the seventh inning against Olean in nonleague action Monday, but it was not the end of the game.

Heading back out in the top of the eighth inning, Grace Arnold-Hill got the Cardinals back on track with a single and Ryanne Bushey bunted her into scoring position with an error putting runners on first and third. A passed ball scored Arnold-Hill to give Randolph the lead and then Isabella Syracuse put the game out of reach with a two-run home run as the Cardinals held on for the 6-3 victory in eight innings.

Arnold-Hill got the Randolph offense going early with a two-run double in the fourth, Sadie Steward knocked an RBI triple in the fifth and Aliza Hind added two more hits in the game.

Hind also secured the win in the circle with 10 strikeouts and two walks.

Emma Edwards was able to get to Hind for the Huskies as she drove in the tying run in the seventh inning, but she was the one to take the loss in the circle.

GOWANDA PAST EAGLES

GOWANDA — Addison Kota went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored as Gowanda outlasted Ellicottville 9-7 in nonleague play.

Eighth-grader Alayna Fish had two hits, including a double, and three runs scored; Lauren Kelly had two hits and two RBIs and CC John singled, drove in two runs and scored a run for the Panthers.

Gracie Eddy threw the first five innings, striking out four while allowing three runs on five hits before Kota threw the final two innings, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two.

WARD HAS BIG

DAY FOR PINE VALLEY

NORTH COLLINS — Carlie Ward collected two hits and drove in three runs for Pine Valley as it rolled North Collins 17-3 in nonleague action.

Destiny Lindquist also collected two hits with a double and three RBIs for the Panthers, Danielle West also had a two-run single and Pine Valley walked 12 times as a team.

Danica Farnham earned the win in the circle, giving up just five hits and one earned run over 4 2/3 innings pitched with six strikeouts and four walks.

Lily Montaldi was the losing pitcher for North Collins with seven strikeouts and 12 walks over five innings. Kylie Bunce collected two hits for the Eagles.
