Jamestown Tops West Seneca 19-0 For 1st Flag Football Win

Behind a strong all-around effort from Kaylee Leeper and Marcia McIntyre, Jamestown posted its first flag football win of the season, blanking West Seneca 19-0 in a Class A game on Monday at Strider Field.

Leeper rushed for 73 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown, collected three pass breakups and picked off two passes; and McIntyre completed 7 of 13 passes for 61 yards and rushed 10 times for 34 yards and a score.

Meanwhile, Chyrssa Wahl added 43 yards on the ground on eight carries, including a 31-yard TD burst, and had eight flag pulls, including two for a loss, and two sacks.

Also contributing to the Red & Green’s victory were Abbee Brandow with a 1-point pass reception; Kayamara Strudwick with 11 flag pulls, including one for a loss; Gracie Melquist with six flag pulls; and Payton Gibbs with two pass breakups, five interceptions and a flag pull.

Jamestown (1-2 overall and 1-0 in Class A) will be back in action at 5 p.m. Thursday when it entertains Orchard Park.
