The Southwestern Central School sailing team kicked off the spring season in Rochester in the Ice Breaker Regatta. Weather was cold with persistent rains and moderate winds between 13-15 knots. Despite the need for dry suits and the foul weather, spirits were high to be back on the water and running races. The most dedicated local area sailors came together to make six teams and finish seven races for the event. Comprising the Southwestern Central team were Jack Colburn and Gabe Logan. The team showed off some great starts, strong hiking and consistent form to earn second place overall, with four second-place finishes and no finish under fourth. Irondequoit took first overall with 7 points. Southwestern Central placed second overall with 18 points. Lew-Port earned third overall with 24 points.
