OLEAN — Gowanda scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to put away Portville in a 10-3 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 baseball game Wednesday.

Blake Herman threw five innings of two-hit ball, allowing two runs while walking two and striking out 11. Carter Capozzi threw the final two innings and struck out five while allowing a run and a hit.

Herman also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, two walks and three runs scored. Seth Geiger and Jayden Fish added two hits apiece while Capozzi had a double for Gowanda (3-1, 2-0).

Aidan DeFazio hit a two-run home run and drove in the other Portville (1-3, 1-2) run with a single.
