Pine Valley split the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 4 girls basketball championship with Ellicottville this winter.

Panthers senior Danielle West was named a first-team all-star for her efforts leading Pine Valley.

Ellicottville was represented on the first team by senior Natalee Leiper, was also named the league’s Player of the Year, and junior Ande Northrup.

Franklinville sophomore Taylor Chase and eighth-grader Grace Cornell completed the league’s first team with Forestville junior Carilene Sliwa.

West averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 3.0 assists per game for Pine Valley, which finished 11-1 in the league.

Leiper averaged 19.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.4 assists per game, while Northrup averaged 12.9 points, 5.0 steals, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for Ellicottville, which also finished 11-1 in the league.

Chase averaged 9.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.25 steals per game, while Cornell averaged 11.5 points, 2.0 steals, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for Franklinville, which finished 8.4 in the league.

Sliwa averaged a league-best 22.9 points and 7.0 steals per game to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

The league’s second team was made up of Pine Valley senior Danica Farnham, Cattaraugus-Little Valley senior Kadie Benzel, Franklinville junior Mackenzie Chase, Pine Valley sophomore Sandy Ivett and Forestville freshman Elizabeth Chase.

North Collins earned the Team Sportsmanship Award with junior Zoe Kreinheder the Eagles’ Individual Sportsmanship Award winner.

Other Individual Sportsmanship Award winners included: West, Forestville freshman Jazmyn Bertino, Franklinville senior Hailey Rzucek, West Valley sophomore Isabella Mitchell and Ellicottville junior Drew Ficek.

Ellicottville’s Tracy Rozler was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
