Newfoundland Rallies Past Jackals

The Jamestown Jackals let a 6-point fourth-quarter lead slip away en route to a 95-91 loss to the Newfoundland Rogues in the Basketball Super League on Sunday.
Jakorie Smith led Newfoundland with 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists. Tarkus Ferguson added 22 points and a team-high 15 rebounds as well as four assists and three steals for the Rogues.
Derrick Colter led the Jackals with 22 points; Deon Stroud had 12 points; and Evan Hinson had 11 points.
Newfoundland scored 28 points off 20 Jamestown turnovers and won the battle in the paint 42-34. The Rogues also outscored the Jackals 19-11 at the free-throw line.
Jamestown returns to action today at 7 p.m. against the London Lightning in London, Ontario.
