Jamestown Girls Beat Niagara Falls In Class AAA

CHEEKTOWAGA — The Jamestown girls basketball team held a 37-29 lead over Niagara Falls at halftime of the Section VI Class AAA semifinals at Maryvale High School on Tuesday.
The Wolverines made a late push against the Red & Green, but clutch free throws from Aiyanna Stam and a tough defensive rebound with 5.7 seconds left to go by Payton Gibbs secured Jamestown the 52-48 victory and a berth into Sunday’s final.
Makena Pryce led Jamestown with 11 points, while Carley Daniels had 9 points and six assists, Gibbs scored 9 with six boards, three assists and three steals and Stam had 10 rebounds.
3-seeded Niagara Falls was led by Ma’Siyah Porter with 15 points.
No. 2 Jamestown will play top-seed Lancaster in the sectional final at Buffalo State College on Sunday at 7:15 p.m.
