Chautauqua Lake NWTF Chapter Plans Hunting Heritage Event

FREWSBURG — The Chautauqua Lake Chapter of the National Wild turkey Federation banquet will host its annual banquet on March 22 at Frewsburg American Legion to raise money for projects that conserve wildlife and preserve New York’s hunting heritage.

“We are looking forward to our annual NWTF banquet, and every year is better than the one before,” said chapter President Charles Youngberg. “It’s the best opportunity in town to meet other people who care about conservation while enjoying good food, good music and good fun.”

Dinner starts at 5 p.m., but attendees can arrive at 3:30 p.m. to enjoy a social hour before the banquet begins.

Families can play games and enter raffles to win many outdoor-related items, including The 2025 NWTF Benelli M2 Gun of the Year. There also will be silent and live auctions for exclusive framed art, guns, collectibles, sculptures, home furnishings and more.

The Chautauqua Lake Chapter of NWTF is one of the oldest chapters in the state. Funds raised during the banquet will go towards Chautauqua County youth programs, not just hunting and fishing, but outdoor and shooting sports for the county’s youth.

All ticket prices include admission, dinner and a single one-year NWTF membership.

Local and state NWTF chapters host thousands of similar events nationwide each year to raise funds that help conserve wildlife and habitat, and introduce new people to the outdoors. Many families enjoy hunting together and pass traditions on from one generation to another. Hunting also is important for the health of our nation’s wildlife and habitat because hunters fund conservation.

Since 1973, the National Wild Turkey Federation has invested more than half a billion dollars into wildlife conservation and has conserved or enhanced more than 21 million acres of critical wildlife habitat. The organization continues to drive wildlife conservation, forest resiliency and robust recreational opportunities across the U.S. by working across boundaries on a landscape scale. Today, the NWTF is investing heavily in wild turkey research to ensure the future of wild turkey populations and is working to secure healthy habitats and healthy harvests.
