Frewsburg’s Fischer Qualifies For States

CHEEKTOWAGA — Another Chautauqua County girl is heading to Syracuse next month.

One day after Jamestown’s Addison Cappalino qualified for the New York State Public High School bowling championships in Division 1, Frewsburg’s Kelsey Fischer qualified in Division 2.

Fischer finished sixth individually after tossing a morning series of 211-220-164 and an afternoon series of 191-179-202 at AMF Airport Lanes. During the regular season, Fischer’s top individual game was a 207 and she averaged 164.8.

Chautauqua Lake’s Alanna Delcamp missed the final qualifying spot for Section VI by five pins with a morning set of 212-203-203 and an afternoon set of 172-211-161. During the regular season, Delcamp’s high game was a 199 and she averaged 150.6.

The state championships will take place Friday, March 14 through Sunday, March 16 at AMF Syracuse Lanes.

Fischer’s performance led Frewsburg to the Class D championship with a morning series of 789-861-804 and an afternoon series of 857-821-882 for a total of 5,014 pins. Khloe Duffy was second for the Bears with a 152-152-199-161-168-161-993, followed by Ashley Bean (149-176-133-159-157-161-935), Aubrie Newburg (127-149-148-186-166-158-934), Jessica Estabrook (139-154-122-160-147-200-922) and Taylor Yost (138-159-160-151-151-154-913).

Depew won the overall Division 2 and Class C titles with a linescore of 1,050-904-859-904-1,030-1,018-5,765. The Wildcats’ Emma Felton took second individually with a 289-180-180-208-242-239-1,338 and thus did not take one of the six individual qualifying spots for the state championships.

Hinsdale’s Madison Rondeau finished first overall with a 217-237-237-280-179-211-1,361. Springville’s Emily Schwanekamp was third with a 154-246-196-184-288-192-1,260, JFK’s Olivia Rhoat was fourth (168-182-259-214-201-206-1,230) and Leonardo da Vinci’s Madison Dunbar was fifth (241-172-213-163-201-234-1,224).

Dunkirk was second in Class C and Division 2 with a linescore of 819-974-893-843-776-823-5,128. Gracey Kozlowski was the Marauders’ top individual with a 16th-place finish of 182-188-181-190-163-182-1,086.

Cassadaga Valley’s Emma Nickerson missed out on a state trip by 11 pins. She finished in eighth place with a 226-158-164-219-215-174-1,156.

Fredonia’s Londyn Wilmot was ninth with a 178-246-207-180-143-183-1,137.

Forestville was third in Class D with a team linescore of 809-736-773-821-863-836-4,838. Tenth-place Alexandra Kerstetter was the Hornets’ top individual with a 178-159-213-154-189-234-1,127.

Randolph was fourth in Class D with a 756-716-733-793-716-770-4,484. Alyssa Milks was the Cardinals’ top individual with a 17th-place finish of 178-161-180-245-158-161-1,083.

Gowanda was fifth in Class D with a 693-731-688-685-773-740-4,310. The Panthers’ top finisher was 25th-place Aubrey Smuda, who rolled a 176-181-180-154-153-168-1,012.

Salamanca was sixth in Class D with a 664-740-698-624-685-642-4,053. The Warriors’ top finisher was 60th-place Emelia Prey, who rolled a 161-172-118-145-153-154-904.

Clymer/Sherman was seventh in Class D with a 656-694-610-635-666-648-3,909. The Wolves’ top finisher was 54th-place Olyvia Redlecki, who finished with a 177-163-136-125-172-149-922.

Falconer was eighth in Class D with a 569-588-667-642-613-634-3,713. The Golden Falcons’ top finisher was 40th-place Rachael Wallace, who rolled a 135-143-161-202-168-154-963.
