ERIE — The Frewsburg girls basketball team had quite the test in its final regular-season game on Monday.

And they nearly aced it.

But the Bears (15-5) were outscored 15-9 in the fourth quarter and dropped a 59-52 nonleaguer to Cathedral Prep.

Addisyn Biel, a 6-foot-2 forward, led the way for the Ramblers (15-7) with 30 points, including 10 in the final period. Not only did she have eight field goals, but she also converted 14 of 18 attempts from the charity stripe, six in the fourth quarter.

Seana Thrower added 10 points for the winners, who were 21 of 28 from the foul line as a team.

Abery Harvey led Frewsburg with 13 points; and Teghan Trocki and Taytum Jimerson both had 11. Jadyn Trocki added 7 points, 10 assists and two steals.

Cathedral Prep, which defeated Frewsburg earlier in the season, led 31-23 at halftime, but the Bears closed to within 44-43 heading into the final eight minutes.

FORESTVILLE — Kaylee Tarr scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists to lead Chautauqua Lake to a 51-47 nonleague victory over Forestville.

Eden Ludwig added 15 points, eight boards and three assists for the Eagles (3-17), while teammate Brina Jacobson collected seven rebounds and had four steals.

For the Hornets (9-10), Carilene Sliwa poured in 23 points.
