Week 4 of the Dot’s Gift Boutique Winter Backyard Curling Leagues at Northwest Arena saw the level of play intensified, with all 82 teams competing.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY 5:45 LEAGUE
Shoeless Joe’s Pub remains in command after dismantling The Jimmy Shimmy’s 58-29 and Sloppy Penguins 52-21. Theresa Jackson and Rich Tyger caught fire and never looked back.
Troy Stimson and Mark Baglia pulled off close calls for Stones 2.0, 43-42 over Always Late and 31-27 against Cold as Ice.
Emily Nelson and Hunter Whippo got The Rolling Stones right back in the mix. They are now at the .500 mark after defeating Curling Me Softly 42-20 and TRCurlers 52-48.
Nancy Welker captained Ba Na Ma Na to a 25-16 win over War Vets.
Mark Moll and The Jimmy Shimmy’s pulled away from Fruit of the Brooms 45-40.
TRCurlers had no trouble with War Vets 41-25 thanks to Austin Mitchell stepping up.
Mike Stevenson and Gren’s Growlers established the pace of play against Had a Few 28-22.
Had a Few was corralled by Jack Munella the next time out with Fruit of the Brooms winning 42-34.
Curt Haight and Sloppy Penguins knocked off Cold as Ice in a 38-37 showdown.
Curling Me Softly was aided by Holly Hackett as they toppled Gren’s Growlers 38-27.
Nikki Hinderleider constructed a dire win for Always Late over Ba Na Ma Na 51-34.
BUD LIGHT MONDAY 6:45 LEAGUE
Susan Justham and Dave Ruby avoided potential upsets for Frosty Curlers. They’ve yet to be figured out by anyone in the league, as they brought down Sip n’ Sliders 36-35 and Cheese Curls 31-28.
Alex Calabrese and Lakeshore East had themselves a night after getting through Snow Good at This 37-25 and Sour Pickles 19-17.
Terry Smith put Rock Slide on her shoulders in both outings. After they held off Cheese Curls 21-17, Smith called his own number in overtime versus Pickle Pushers for a 32-31 win.
Jamie Glatz and Ice Holes overcame a slow start against Stark Gravel 33-28.
Don Liden turned the ship around as Stark Gravel took care of Sip n’ Sliders 31-23.
Tom Wright and Tree Huggers sniffed out the game plan of Rowers on Ice 28-22.
Dave Hendrick clutched up for Snow Good at This in their 40-37 conquest of Ice Holes.
Last but not least, congratulations to Diana Meckley. She served as sub for Pickle Pushers and wasted no time getting comfortable in their 48-24 takedown of Rowers on Ice.

Legion of Broom controls first place due to the high-flying offense so far this season. Mike Dietrich and Todd Frangione helped the team survive Girls with Stones 36-34 and We Love Beer 40-38.
Chris Maggio and Mike Latone have Head for the Mountains hot on the trail. They fended off J-1 Auto 49-44 and Curl Jam 43-36.
12 Ounce Curls is witnessing a star arise in Jeff Housler. He continued his hot streak against Stone Cold Maidens 48-34.
Joe Blair and We Love Beer got the best of 12 Ounce Curls 39-37.
Max Eimiller uplifted Slone Melhuish by delivering the decider against Knuckle Draggers in overtime 32-31.
Autumn Mazzone and Drunken Sliders showed no mercy with In-Laws Rock 50-31.
Nate Ford and J-1 Auto were scorching in their 54-44 ambush of We’ve Got the Stones.
Kait Benish and Curling Me Softly knocked off In-Laws Rock 34-30.
Josh Johnson and Curl Jam put up 16 points in the final two ends to move by Slone Melhuish 40-29.
Doris Hale and Stone Cold Maidens acquired a monumental victory over Drunken Sliders 48-47.
STEVE CHAMBERS/JAMESTOWN HONDA WEDNESDAY 6:30 LEAGUE
Glen Wilcox, Cindy Panebianco and Perfect Stones are the new front runners in the division. They claimed the top spot after defeating Ice Ice Baby 37-27 and Keepin’ It Cool 31-23.
Business as usual for the 12 oz. Curlers on Wednesday. Justin Swanson and Dylan Matteson clocked out with impressive numbers against Curls Gone Wild 30-29 and The Ice Men 31-22.
Nate Donisi led the attack for Team No Name. They found an identity versus Stuart Tool & Dye 39-26 and Got Stones 19-15.
The headline of the night featured a gritty performance from Ben Snow and Curls Gone Wild. They sent the previously unbeaten Brush Offs packing 31-26.
Although, Nick Kahanic and The Brush Offs did escape their next matchup with Smokin’ Rocks 30-28.
Jamie Allenson and Rolling Stones shut down In the House 27-18.
Scott Mekus and Smokin’ Rocks did the same thing to In the House 32-27.
Molly Gustafson showed out yet again in a 31-25 takedown of Keepin’ It Cool for The Ice Men.
Adam Paterniti and Got Stones pulled out a slugfest with Rolling Stones 19-13.
Nate Thornton and the Ice Holes took advantage of Stuart Tool & Dye 29-23.

12 oz. Curlers stayed undefeated behind Ryan Short and Tim Sturges. The dynamic duo, along with their unit, walloped Ice and Easy 43-22 and Haggy Jr. 56-26.
Len and Sue Comella set the winning standard for Trouble Makers. Defense was the key in trumping QUEST 31-18 and HCH Interiors 32-18.
Elsewhere, it was a memorable night for On the Rocks. Michelle Blair engineered the 31-20 victory against Barney’s Hoof Trimming.
Kayla Fardink followed that up by nailing two buttons to write off Six Stones and a Stick 42-27.
Brent Anderson and Barney’s Hoof Trimming utilized a fast start to upend Sub Zero 34-24.
Fran Carlson caught fire toward the finish line as Sub Zero put away Rand Machine 31-23.
Adolph Avery and Rand Machine rebounded nicely versus Axiom 39-27.
Spencer Scalf and Flintstones polished off House Hunters 29-26.
Tom Lassen and HCH Interiors squeaked by Ice and Easy 30-29.
Six Stones and a Stick watched the rise of Tammy Rea against House Hunters 41-23.
Kathy Hallquist assembled a nice victory for QUEST over Flintstones 30-24.
RYAN DEPPAS/LEGEND GROUP FRIDAY 4:30 LEAGUE
Lions & Bears topped the century mark, having a combined score of 101 points to capture two wins over Curl Jam and Sweeping Beauties 40-39 and 61-46, respectively, as Barb Lyons and Dawn Columbare led the way.
Sara Jacobson and Jenna Whitney continue to put On the Rocks on their shoulders to catapult their team to a first-place tie in the division. The dynamic duo slid the Rocks to victory over Sweeping Beauties 56-45 and Bemus Boulders 37-27.
Neil’s Propane is finding their way on Friday afternoons, with two more lopsided wins over NAME 52-27 and Cold Beer Here 46-30 behind strong play from Chrissy Silzle and Tim Sturges.
In an instant classic, Peter Sullivan and the Bemus Boulders knocked off defending champions 2 Curls and a Cup 57-55, as the Boulders scored 14 points in the final end to get the memorable win.
Super-Sub Gregg Wefing showed up in a big way to lead the Bemus Sliders past Ba Na Ma Na 51-48.
Ba Na Ma Na opened up their afternoon with their first win of the season over Curlews 44-40, as Nancy Welker was on fire as she peppered the house all afternoon long.
Curl Jam bounced back in their second game as Sophie Horner and Liz Kaltenback carried their team to victory over Frost Bitten Twice Shy 56-16.
Frost Bitten Twice Shy opened up their afternoon with a nail-biting 36-34 win over the Bemus Sliders behind their captain Brenda Degnan.
Brandon Watson controlled the house as his NAME team knocked off the Curlew’s 37-27.
2 Curls and a Cup remain at the top of the division as a result of their 42-37 victory over Tracy’s Dog with Zach Muntz showing off his curling prowess.
