Madison Francis is as advertised.
The Lancaster senior, who was featured on SportsCenter earlier this week for her one-handed dunk, poured in 44 points, including 19 in the first quarter, to lead the Legends to a 78-52 victory over Jamestown in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 girls basketball game at McElrath Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Mississippi State commit scored on a drive on Lancaster’s first possession and then drilled back-to-back 3-pointers to start a 16-2 run. By the end of the period, the Legends’ led 31-11, a margin that was 47-25 at halftime.
After the break, the closest the Red & Green got was 18 points, but the outcome was never in doubt.
Joining Francis in double figures was McKenna Corcoran with 10 points.

For Jamestown, Makena Pryce led the way with 17 points, Aiyanna Stam had 12 points and 17 rebounds and Anna Engquist chipped in 9 points. Carley Daniels dished out five assists.

WOLVERINES PREVAIL
MAYVILLE — Sophia Wolfe scored 9 points as Westfield edged Chautauqua Lake 34-22 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls action.
Sydney Hotchkiss collected eight rebounds for the Wolverines (10-7, 7-5), Reagan Weingart had five boards and Olivia Wolfe made four steals.
Chautauqua Lake (2-13, 2-9) was led by Kaylee Tarr with 11 points and seven rebounds, Anna Reyda had six boards and Brina Jacobson collected five rebounds and two steals.
