HOUGHTON — Two members of the Falconer/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph indoor track & field team captured first-place finishes at the Section VI Varsity Select No. 2 meet at Houghton University over the weekend.

Cody Kent won the 1,600 meters in 4:40.65, while Charles Sundquist claimed the weight throw with a toss of 60 feet, 7 inches.

Second-place finishes among area athletes were recorded by Jamila Nelthrope of Salamanca in the 300 meters (43.14) and Emily Cardinale of Jamestown in the pole vault (10-0).

Johnee Thomas of Dunkirk/Forestville/Silver Creek placed third in the 600 meters (1:25.18). The fourth-place finishers were Ryanna Brady of Salamanca in the 1,500 meters (5:15.76); Isabella Milks of Salamanca in the high jump (5-0); Mariella Russo of Fredonia/Westfield in the high jump (5-0); Mary Lundmark of Falconer/Maple Grove/Frewsburg/Randolph in the pole vault (9-0); and Javiana Matos of Jamestown in the weight throw (37-8.75).

Recording a fifth-place finish was Brighton Lumia of Jamestown in the triple jump (38-7.25).
