Johnson Pours In 30, Jamestown Beats Orchard Park
ORCHARD PARK — Jaydian Johnson continues to roll.
The senior guard poured in 30 points to go along with four assists and four rebounds to lead Jamestown to a 77-56 victory over Orchard Park in an Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 basketball game Saturday afternoon.
Johnson, who is 24 points shy of reaching 1,000 for his career, had plenty of help.
Elijah Farmer scored 20 points, hauled down 16 rebounds, had three assists and a pair of blocked shots; and Dom Gonzalez chipped in 13 points, five assists and three steals as the Red & Green improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the division.
The Quakers (5-1, 3-1), meanwhile, were led by Carter Switek with 23 points, Max Mancabelli with 14 and Brody Monaco with 10.
Winners of six straight, Jamestown found itself in an 11-11 tie late in the first quarter, but it outscored Orchard Park 33-11 the rest of the first half to take a 44-22 lead at intermission. The outcome was never in doubt the rest of the way.
As a team, the Red & Green shot 34 of 67 from the floor, including 28 of 48 from the trio of Johnson, Farmer and Gonzalez. Jamestown also held a 37-18 rebounding advantage and collected 18 assists.
The Red Green returns to action today when it entertains Lancaster, its first home game in more than a month. The varsity tip is at 8 p.m.
NOTES: In the junior varsity game, Jamestown prevailed 54-48, led by Jhensen Hernandez, who scored 17 points.

FERRANTO LEADS SHERMAN
SHERMAN — Jacob Ferranto had 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead Sherman past Pine Valley 57-37 in nonleague play Saturday.
Nolan DeKoning added 12 points and Troy Chambers had 11 points for the Wildcats (5-4), who led 28-17 at halftime.
Trent Ivett led the Panthers (3-5) with 19 points and James Greene had 11.
