Jamestown Girls Pick Up Fourth Victory

BUFFALO — Aiyanna Stam scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Jamestown to a 56-36 nonleague girls basketball victory over Mount Mercy on Friday night.

The Red & Green (4-5) jumped out to a 34-11 lead at halftime, shook off a tough third quarter and then put the game away in the final period.

“The eighth grade came up big,” Jamestown coach Ken Ricker said. “Carley Daniels had five assists and five steals, Payton Gibbs scored 10 points, and after a slow third quarter — the Lady Magic cut the lead to eight — Nayani Reid scored four straight points to get us going again.”

In addition, Makena Pryce chipped in 7 points, seven rebounds and five steals, and Anna Engquist scored 9 points.

Dintino led Mount Mercy with 12 points.
