FREWSBURG — Sierra Beaver would’ve loved for her team to have a pair of competitive games at the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament this week.

It’s getting harder for the Frewsburg head coach to find those kinds of games locally.

The Bears followed up Friday’s 95-24 win over Lockport with a 70-28 victory over Warren (Pa.) in the championship game of their own tournament Saturday evening at Frewsburg Middle/High School.

Undefeated Frewsburg, which reached the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class C semifinals a year ago, has now won its first six games this season by an average of nearly 40 points per game.

The senior Jimerson twins, Ava and Taytum, were prematurely celebrating their 18th birthday a day early and combined for 31 points. Ava Jimerson, who was named to the all-tournament team, finished with three rebounds, two steals and two assists to go along with her 17 points, while Taytum had 14 points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Sophomore Jadyn Trocki was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. She finished with 13 points, seven steals, four assists and four rebounds after Friday’s 29-point, nine-assist, eight-steal performance, while her senior sister, Teghan, was named to the all-tournament team after scoring 11 points to go along with five rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots on Saturday.

Ava Jimerson scored 8 points during a 25-4 first quarter as the Bears jumped on the Dragons from the opening tip-off. By halftime, Frewsburg led by 29 and by the end of the third quarter the score was 57-16.

The Dragons were represented on the all-tournament team by junior Peyton Wotorson, who scored 6 points Saturday after leading Warren with 20 in the first round Friday. Alana Stuart led the Dragons on Saturday with 11 points.

Clarence won the consolation game 60-29 over Lockport.

Senior Kiera Haley led the Red Devils with 12 points. Senior Allison Glaude, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 11 points and freshman Arden Green had 10.

Senior Siraya “Raya” Myles was named to the all-tournament team after leading Lockport with 17 points on Saturday.

Clarence led by just six after the first quarter, but opened a 31-18 halftime advantage with a 12-5 second quarter. A 13-2 third quarter in favor of the Red Devils put the game away.

NOTES: Frewsburg shot 26 of 59 (44.1%) from the field, including 7 of 17 (41.2%) from 3-point range, and turned the ball over 13 times. … Warren shot 10 of 48 (20.8%) from the field, including 4 of 27 (14.8%) from 3-point range, and turned the ball over 22 times. … Frewsburg will host Cathedral Prep (Pa.) next Saturday at 7:30 p.m., while Warren will visit DuBois (Pa.) that same day at 1 p.m.
