WESTFIELD — The Westfield boys basketball team continued its dominant run at its Winter Classic Tournament on Saturday with a 88-51 victory over Gowanda in the championship.

Zach Maguire led the Wolverines with a huge double-double that included a pair of dunks as he scored 32 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks in the win. Carson Swanson added another 27 points, eight assists and six steals for Westfield, Grant Beadle also provided a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards and Brayden Paddock added five boards and two steals.

Gowanda was led by Trelin Warrior with 23 points.

Maguire and Swanson shared MVP, while Warrior and Beadle were named to the All-Tournament team.

CONSOLATION GAME

Prior to the championship, Bretton Blecha scored 27 points with 12 boards and three steals to lead Franklinville past North Collins in the consolation game.

Matthew Spittler added another 13 points and seven boards for Franklinville, while Grant Cornell had 10 points.

Walter Ebersole paced North Collins with 18 points and six rebounds, while Scott Armbruster scored 13 points with seven boards and three steals and Zander Miller had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Blecha and Ebersole were named to the All-Tournament team.
