Jackals Soar Past Pontiac In Season Opener On Friday
Deon Stroud poured in a game-high 28 points to lead the Jamestown Jackals to a 119-99 victory over Pontiac in their Basketball Super League season opener Friday night at the Physical Education Complex at Jamestown Community College.
Stroud connected 11 of 14 shots from the field, including three of four from the arc, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. Joining him in double figures were Derrick Colter and Devante Jamison with 19 points apiece, and Tafari Beckford and Braden Bell with 14 each.
The Jackals shot a blistering 59% from the floor (48 of 81), including 70% (16 of 23) from distance.
James Towns led the Pharaohs with 24 points, Trent Temple had 20, Khalil Gracey added 15 and Orlando Little chipped in 10.
Jamestown will be back in action this Sunday when they entertain the KW Titans at 4 p.m., back at the Physical Education Complex.
