In Morrison’s Return, Randolph Wins In Elmira
ELMIRA — Gianna Bowles and Skylar Herington each had 8 points during a 21-8 first quarter as Randolph beat Johnson City 65-49 in the first round of the 25th Josh Palmer Fund Clarion Classic on Friday at Elmira High School.
Payton Morrison returned to the lineup to score 13 points and add four rebounds for the Cardinals, who hit 11 3-pointers. Herington had 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists; Quinn Pence had 11 points, eight assists and four steals; and Sadie Steward added 10 points, nine rebounds and three assists for the Cardinals, who will take on St. Mary’s of Lancaster on Monday at 3:15 p.m.
Annabel Burke led Johnson City with 15 points.

Alexis Pattyson added 12 points and Hailey Anderson had 10 rebounds for the Cougars, who led 49-23 at halftime.
Kiera Loberg led the Panthers with 23 points and Kaitlyn Horton added 19.

Teagan Gratto had 12 points, while Emmersen Crawford, Kelsey Wagner and Baya Oehlbeck had 11 points apiece as Sherman coasted past Fredonia 54-16 in nonleague play at Jamestown Community College.
