SANBORN — Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek had a pair of champions and Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Brocton had one at the fourth annual Linda C. Knuutila Memorial Girls Wrestling Tournament this weekend at Niagara County Community College.

Avery White won the 145-pound title for Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek with a 12-2 technical-fall victory over Tioga’s Amelia Toomey. Kimberly Bauer won the 185-pound title for Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek with a pin of Lockport’s Ava Bragg in 2:57 of their championship bout. At 152 pounds, Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Brocton’s Lilly Hyde pinned Dunkirk’s Anahi DeJesus in 47 seconds for the title.

In addition to DeJesus, Dunkirk’s Aamarielys Cruz was the runnerup at 100 pounds after getting pinned by Alexander’s Jasmine Brucato in 1:16. Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek’s McKella Hodkin was second at 138 pounds after falling 10-0 to Newfane’s Alexa Doxey.

Kassidy Benedetto was third at 94 pounds for Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Brocton with a 10-0 technical-fall win over Alexander’s Maylee Moore. Benedetto’s teammate, Kortlyn Fairbank, was third at 107 pounds with a 37-second pin over Sweet Home’s Ava Lockridge. At 132 pounds, Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Brocton’s Noli Paddock was victorious with a 17-6 technical fall over Niagara Wheatfield’s Emma Beckles in the third-place match.

Local fourth-place finishers included: Alice Scarpine (CL/W/P/C/S/B, 114 pounds), Gabriella Testa (CL/W/P/C/S/B, 145 pounds), Avary LeGrano (F/F/SC, 152 pounds), Bailey Fuller (Frewsburg, 165 pounds) and Jaslieen Salgado (Dunkirk, 235 pounds).

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Panama/Clymer/Sherman/Brocton was second in the team results with 161 points, Dunkirk was fifth (119) and Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek was ninth (75.5).
