Hilliker Wins 24th Wed. Travel League Event Of Season
VENANGO, Pa. — The Wednesday Travel League took advantage of another beautiful November day, playing Venango Valley for its 35th event of the season, matching the record for most events held in a season.
Josh Hilliker shot the low round of 74 for his ninth straight win and record his 24th tour win of the season. Bob North finished second with 76 and Ed Tofil was third with 78. Hilliker led the front nine with 36 and North led the back nine with 37. The B Flight winner was Tom Sacilowski. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Bob Kujawa.
Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight, Dave Franklin (No. 11), Jeff Nelson (No. 13), Tom Destro (No. 15), Hilliker (No. 17) and North (No. 18); B Flight, Mike Willoughby (No. 1), Lenny Leszkowicz (No. 3), Sacilowski (Nos. 4, 7), Gary Haase (Nos. 8, 16), Pete Pinkoski (No. 9), and Pat Weaver (No. 12).
Closest to the pin were Sacilowski (No. 4), Haase (No. 11), Nelson (No. 13) and Tofil (No. 16). Winners of the steeplechase were Hilliker in A Flight and Leszkowicz in B Flight.
