Timberwolves Knock Off Gowanda In Division 2 Volleyball Action
GOWANDA — After taking the first set, Gowanda lost three in a row to fall to Cattaraugus-Little Valley 17-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls volleyball action on Thursday.
Corrina John led the Gowanda (10-3, 7-2) attack with 12 kills and added three blocks, Addison Kota Made three kills, two assists and nine digs, Jill Gernatt made 26 assists, seven digs and a kill, Holland Browning scored seven kills, five digs and an ace and Lauren Kelly added four kills, a dig and three blocks.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley improves to 10-4 overall and 6-4 in the league.
EAGLES FALL TO GATORS
ALLEGANY — Ellicottville came up short to Allegany-Limestone in a five set thriller 23-25, 25-10, 20-25, 25-21, 15-12 in Division 2.
Riley Whitmer led the Eagles (8-7, 4-6) with 17 kills, 11 digs, six blocks and an assist, Ande Northrup dealt 23 assists, 16 digs and four kills and Natalee Leiper made 19 digs, 11 kills, two aces, a block and an assist.
Allegany-Limestone improves to 12-4 overall and 7-2 in the league.
TROJANS EDGE HUSKIES
OLEAN — Bella Sirianni scored four aces, 16 assists, 17 digs and three blocks to lead Southwestern past Olean 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 in Division 1 action.
Siri DuBois made two blocks, eight kills and seven digs for the Trojans (8-6, 6-4), Kate Miller registered five aces and seven digs and Payton Swartz recorded 20 digs and an ace.
Olean falls to 7-7 overall and 3-6 in league.
