Berg’s Goal Sends JHS To Win; Roth’s Tally Lifts F/CV/MG

FREDONIA — Brielle Berg’s second goal of the game at the seven-minute mark of overtime lifted Jamestown to a 3-2 win over Fredonia in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls soccer game Thursday.

Payton Gibbs was credited with the assist on the game winner, Carly Daniels added the other goal and Myah Crossley made four saves for the Red & Green, who improved to 3-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the division.

The Hillbillies dropped to 5-6-0 and 2-3-0.

ROTH’S OT GOAL DECIDES IT

FALCONER — Juliana Roth’s overtime goal, assisted by Sydnee Snow, lifted Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove to a 1-0 victory over Allegany-Limestone in a Division 1 game.

Ellyson Baglia made eight saves for the winners, who improved to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the division.

Chloe Baker made eight saves for the Gators (10-1, 5-1), who suffered their first loss.

TROJANS TRIM OLEAN

OLEAN — Behind two goals from Marlana Cresanti and one from Avery Johnson, Southwestern defeated Olean 3-0 in a Division 1 game.

Emma Malmstrom Jouannet and Ellie Giltinan chipped in assists in support of keeper Braya Beaver, who was credited with one save.

Emma Edwards made 33 saves for Olean.

The Trojans improved to 6-4-0 overall and 4-2-0, while Olean dropped to 1-8-1 and 0-5-1.

NORTH COLLINS WINS

NORTH COLLINS — Six first-half goals gave North Collins a comfortable lead en route to a 7-2 Division 3 win over Dunkirk.

Breanna Kaczanowski tallied two goals, and Hannah Jasinski, Jenna Sickau, Isabella Contro, Jenna Sickau and Brooke Gabel all had one for the winners (7-3-0, 4-2)).

Sickau, Contro, James Pisa and Peyton Teijeira all collected an assist.

Mya Tannis (four saves) and Mikayla Haskell shared the net-minding duties for the winners.

The Marauders fell to 0-8-0, 0-6-0.

EAGLES PREVAIL

WESTFIELD — Lucy Gates recorded a shutout in net, leading Chautauqua Lake to a 3-0 victory over Westfield/Brocton in a Division 3 game.

Gates stopped three shots and was the beneficiary of one goal by the Eagles (5-5-0, 5-2-0) in the first half and two more in the second.

Colie Bundy made 12 saves for the Wolverines (2-6-1, 1-5-0).

SALAMANCA FALLS

SALAMANCA — Sparked by three goals from Grace Gariepy, Portville upended Salamanca 6-0 in a Division 2 game.

Emma Rhinehart, Ashley Carls and Matilde Brotto added a goal apiece for the winners, who improved to (9-1-0, 7-0-0). Keeper Bella Morales was credited with three saves.

For the Warriors (4-6-1, 4-5-0), goalie Aaliyah Winship made 19 saves.

RANDOLPH ROLLS

RANDOLPH — Gianna Bowles and Sadie Steward scored twice each to highlight Randolph’s 6-1 win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in a Division 2 game.

Quinn Pence and Ava Sears completed the scoring for the Cardinals (8-3-1, 6-2-1) in support of keeper Stella Smith, who was credited with two saves.

Dishing out assists for Randolph were Sears with two, and Bowles, Pence, Sears and Ella Monroe with one apiece.

Talon Bramer found the back of the net for the Timberwolves (1-10-0, 1-7-0). Kierra Knobloch was in net and was credited with 24 saves.
