Wolfpack Features Multiple Weapons In 21-6 Win Over Franklinville/Ellicottville

FRANKLINVILLE — Tate Catanese went 27 of 38 for 258 yards and three touchdowns as Clymer/Sherman/Panama beat Franklinville/Ellicottville 21-6 in Class D football action Friday.

Bryce Hinsdale caught 10 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, Carter Brink caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, and Alex Barmore had five catches for 52 yards and a score for the Wolfpack (3-1, 3-0).

Clymer/Sherman/Panama led 14-0 at halftime on touchdown catches of 3 yards from Hinsdale and 15 yards from Brink. After the break, the Wolfpack took a 21-0 lead on Brink’s 10-yard touchdown catch and Hinsdale’s third successful point-after kick.

Matthew Spittler caught a 26-yard touchdown from Isaac Towne to break up the shutout for the Titans (2-2, 1-1).

“It was a battle,” Wolfpack head coach Ty Harper said.

Travis Owens led Clymer/Sherman/Panama in rushing with 52 yards. Defensively, Collin Ryan had eight tackles and a fumble recovery, Tim White had eight tackles and an interception, Jordan Mescall and Andrew Spiesman had seven tackles apiece, and Hinsdale intercepted two passes.

Towne led Franklinville/Ellicottville with 61 yards on the ground.

SALAMANCA DOMINATES FREDONIA

FREDONIA — Salamanca scored quickly and often en route to a 49-7 Class C South defeat of Fredonia on Friday night at the Orange Bowl.

Cory Holleran returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown, then ran back a punt 83 yards for a score before Xavier Peters ran 64 yards for a third touchdown as the Warriors (4-0, 4-0) led 21-0 after the first quarter.

Maddox Isaac added touchdown passes of 1 yard to Kyle Lecceardone and 15 yards to Payton Bradley in the second quarter to make it 35-0 at halftime.

After the break, Isaac ran for a 65-yard touchdown and Peters added a 94-yard score.

Donovan Dowdy scored the lone touchdown for the Hillbillies (1-3, 1-3) with an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Peters finished with 183 yards on just three carries and Isaac added 127 yards on just three carries as Salamanca held the ball for just 14 minutes and 37 seconds compared to 33 minutes and 23 seconds of possession for Fredonia.

Luca Gullo led the Hillbillies with 67 yards on the ground.

FULLER HAS BIG NIGHT

SILVER CREEK — Bradyn Fuller ran 19 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns to lead Southwestern to a 34-7 Class C South defeat of Silver Creek/Forestville.

The Trojans totaled 258 yards on the ground with Brayden Potter adding 45 and a pair of scores.

Owen Hayes also completed five passes for 65 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown to Fuller for Southwestern’s other score.

The Black Knights got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when Gavin DeLong completed a touchdown pass to Brady Eick, the Trojans had already taken a 13-0 lead by that point.

Defensively for Southwestern, Potter was in on eight tackles, including two for losses, and recovered a fumble. George Marshall was in on seven tackles, including three for losses, while Oscar Harris was in on eight tackles, including two for losses.

RANDOLPH RUNS OVER T’WOLVES

CATTARAUGUS — Randolph ran for 320 yards and scored in every quarter en route to a 45-8 Class D defeat of Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Kevin McElwain carried eight times for 119 yards and a touchdown; Connor Braley carried 14 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns; and Jaxson Morrison and Reagan Smith also added touchdown runs for the Cardinals (2-2, 1-1). Morrison also completed a 30-yard touchdown pass to Baker Huntington.

DJ Szata completed eight passes for 90 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown to Josiah Lenehan, while also rushing for 49 yards for the Timberwolves (1-3, 0-2).
