Chautauqua Lake Holds Off North Collins After Strong First Half
NORTH COLLINS — A pair of first-half goals was the difference for the Chautauqua Lake Eagles as they defeated North Collins 3-1 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West girls soccer action Tuesday.
Jada Cole led the Chautauqua Lake (1-2, 1-0) offense with two goals and assisted a goal by Avery Cannon, while Lucy Gates made five saves in net.
North Collins (0-1, 0-1) received a second-half goal from Hannah Jasinski, while Mya Tanis and Lily Montaldi split time in net with one and five saves, respectively.
CARDINALS SOAR
FRANKLINVILLE — Gianna Bowles dealt out three assists and scored once as Randolph shut out Franklinville 9-0 in East Division play.
Quinn Pence netted a pair of goals and an assist for the Cardinals (1-1, 1-0). Ava Sears added two goals; Sadie Steward had a goal and two assists; Riley Reynolds scored once and assisted once; and both Ella Monroe and Sara Smith had one goal.
Stella Smith was called upon for one save in the win, while Franklinville (0-2, 0-1) keeper Taylor Chase made 14 saves.
BEARS ROLL BLACK KNIGHTS
SILVER CREEK — Audrey Eckwahl scored four goals and an assist as Frewsburg dominated Silver Creek/Forestville 10-0 in Division 2 West.
Ava Jimerson picked up a hat trick and two assists for the Bears. Taytum Jimerson added a hat trick and an assist; Brionna Dumaine dealt out two assists; and the trio of Lyla Salvaggio, Jaden Jimerson and Kealy Caflisch had one assist apiece.
Silver Creek/Forestville dropped its first game of the year and stands at 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the league.
FREDONIA EARNS FIRST WIN
WESTFIELD — A first-half goal was all Fredonia needed as it shut out Westfield/Brocton 3-0 in nonleague action.
Fredonia (1-2) tested Westfield/Brocton (2-1) keeper Colie Bundy frequently as she made 15 saves.
EAGLES BLANK PANTHERS
ELLICOTTVILLE — Addison John scored four goals and one assist as Ellicottville posted a clean sheet against Pine Valley/Gowanda 8-0 in East Division play.
Drew Ficek added a hat trick and picked up two assists for the Eagles (2-0, 1-0), and Julianna O’Connell scored once.
Courtney Marsh made two saves for the win, while Destiny Lindquist made a whopping 26 saves for the Panthers (0-2, 0-1). Taylor Yoder came in to make four saves in defeat.
