Williams Named Finalist For PLL’s Eamon McEneaney Award
Irving native and Silver Creek graduate Zed Williams of the Maryland Whipsnakes was announced as a finalist for the Eamon McEneaney Attackman of the Year award in the Premier Lacrosse League. Williams has led the attack for the Whipsnakes scoring 31 points in 10 games with 26 one-point goals, 1 two-point goal and 3 assists as they achieved the 4-seed in this year’s playoffs. He also shares the league-lead in scoring points with 28, sharing the position with New York’s Jeff Teat and Boston’s Marcus Holman. The five finalists are Philadelphia’s Michael Sowers, Boston’s Asher Nolting, Teat, Holman and Williams. The award winners will be announced on Sept. 13. Williams and the Whipsnakes are back in action on Sept. 2 in a quarterfinal game against Denver that will be aired on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
