Washington & Jefferson College, an NCAA Division III power from Washington, Pennsylvania, will take on GLS Dolphins Ancona today in an exhibition game in Ancona.
There will be some familiar area names on the Presidents’ sideline.
The head coach is Mike Sirianni, who will be entering his 21st season at the helm. Since taking over the program, the 1990 Southwestern Central School graduate has compiled a 176-42 record for a .807 winning percentage.
Rostered players from Chautauqua County include quarterback Gerrit Hinsdale, a 2020 Panama Central School graduate, and wide receiver Simon Davis, a 2022 Fredonia Central School alum.
The Dolphins, a professional team, are 7-3 on the season, which runs from March through June. They are coming off a 48-15 victory over the Bologna Warriors.
