Jayhawks’ Soccer Season Ends In Region 3 Semifinals

A historic season came to an end for the Jamestown Community College men’s soccer team on Wednesday afternoon, falling to No. 5 Onondaga CC 5-1 in the NJCAA Region 3 semifinal game.

The Jayhawks (10-6-2) found themselves down early in the first half and trailed 3-0 heading into the break. The Lazers added a pair of goals in the second half to make it 5-0.

Sophomore forward Ethan Richardson (Llanharan, Wales/Bridgend College) got a goal back in the 75th minute of play thanks to an assist from sophomore midfielder Mario Alberto Campo (Santa Marta, Colombia/Gimnasio de los Cerros).

Freshman forward Alex Watt (Belfast, Northern Ireland/Campbell College) had chances on the net as well, producing four shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Gavin Roux (East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa/Selborne College) made 11 saves.
