Jamestown’s Stephen Carlson Works Out For Bills, Still In Search Of Team
Stephen Carlson’s efforts to find a new NFL landing spot continue.
According to Yahoo.com, the free-agent tight end from Jamestown worked out for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday at their training camp at St. John Fisher College.
According to the report, Carlson was one of 11 players who were run through their paces. Of that group, only offensive lineman Jordan Simmons was signed by the Bills.
The workout comes as the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Carlson attempts to return to the NFL after not being tendered by Cleveland earlier this year. The former Jamestown High School star tore his ACL last August against Jacksonville and missed all of the 2021 season. Signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in April 2019 out of Princeton University, Carlson played in all 16 games in 2020, including two starts. He caught only one pass for 11 yards, but was a key contributor on special teams where he made nine tackles.
