OLEAN — Panama/Maple Grove’s David Marshall set an Olean Middle School pool record for 11 dives, but Olean/Allegany-Limestone Franklinville prevailed, 98-86, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association boys swimming Tuesday.

Marshall, a junior at Maple Grove, finished with a score of 505.75 to coast to victory in the 1-meter diving competition. Marshall beat Matt Merchant’s school record as well. During the 2014-15 season, Merchant had an 11-dive score of 430.55, and he later went on to earn NCAA Division III All-American status at SUNY Brockport.

RJ Helt also was a double winner in vain Tuesday, capturing the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.72) and 100-yard butterfly (58.67).

Olean/Allegany-Limestone/Franklinville had four individual winners and took a relay while prevailing with its depth.

Zachary Gifford was a double winner to lead Frewsburg/Southwestern to a 101-78 win over Jamestown/Falconer.

Gifford took first place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.82) and 100-yard freestyle (54.16) for the guests.

Kyle Dean captured the 100-yard butterfly (57.62) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.25) for Jamestown/Falconer.
