Darius Jones scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Maple Grove beat first-place Westfield, 68-66, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 West boys basketball action Monday. Jones also had 19 points and four steals as the Red Dragons beat Frewsburg, 65-52, in league play Thursday night.

Bre Hill scored 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, blocked four shots, picked up two steals and handed out a pair of assists in Maple Grove’s 59-48 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West win over Allegany-Limestone on Tuesday.

Dontae Hoose won the 195-pound title at the Section VI Class C-D Championships on Saturday at Falconer High School. Hoose earned a 7-2 decision over Franklinville/Cuba-Rushford’s Kyle Wittenrich in the final.

Jamestown
Kyle Dean qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships in a pair of events at Saturday’s Section VI Class A Championships at Maryvale High School. Dean won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.63 seconds and took second in the 50-yard freestyle (21.93) to reach the state cut in both events.

Riley Piazza turned in the top individual performance at the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Boys Roll-Offs on Tuesday at Jamestown Bowling Company. Pizza rolled a 289-246-202-737 to lead the Red Raiders.

Emily Ryberg turned in the top individual performance at the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Girls Roll-Offs on Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company. Ryberg rolled a 204-205-224-633 to lead the Red Raiders.
