Jamestown’s Marcus Rojas Selected To ECIC Division 1 First Team
A Jamestown High School senior basketball player has been named to the Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 first team.
Marcus Rojas, a 6-foot-2 forward, averaged 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders, who advanced to the Section VI Class AA championship game.
Joining Rojas on the first team are three West Seneca West players — junior Player of the Year Juston Johnson, senior Alex Wayland and junior Adrian Baugh — and junior River Reinhardt of Clarence.
Matt Hill of Jamestown is a second-team selection. The senior guard averaged 12 points and drilled 62 3-pointers and shot 73 percent from the foul line. Joining Hill on the second team are junior Jakub Jerebko of Lancaster, seniors Dave Morris and Eric Liberatore of Orchard Park, and sophomore Brett Swiech and junior Jacob Belote, both of Williamsville North.
Honorable-mention choices include freshman Elijah Rojas of Jamestown, senior Nate Wereski of Orchard Park, junior Jonathan Abaya and senior Ryan Johnson of Williamsville North, junior Jack Putney of Clarence, and sophomore Gianluca Fulcinitti of Lancaster. Rojas averaged 8.4 points and 2.6 assists per game, and nailed 21 3-pointers.
Des Randall of West Seneca West is the Coach of the Year.
