Rex A. Weary
Rex Arnold Weary, 66, of Beaverton, Oregon and formerly of Mayville, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. His death was related to complications from his long battle with Type 1 diabetes.
Rex was valedictorian of his graduating class at Chautauqua Central School in 1977 and was also very active in sports during his high school years, most notably in Track and Field and in Basketball. Following High School, Rex went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering at Alfred University, in 1981.
Relocating to the Pacific Northwest with his first position after earning his engineering degree, Rex initially went to work at Atlas Steel Foundry in Tacoma, Washington, and later worked in technical management and production management roles at both Esco Corporation in Portland, Oregon, and most recently at Olympic Foundry, headquartered in Seattle, Washington.
Rex is survived by his wife, Pamela Weary, of Beaverton, OR, his daughter Angela (James) Ryan, also of Beaverton, and his granddaughter Ella Ryan.
Locally, Rex is survived by his parents, John ‘Cork’ Weary and Naomi Auge Weary of Mayville, sister Wanda (Richard) Peterson of Ashville and brother Barry (Connie) Weary of Sherman, NY.
