Jeffrey P. Kazelunas
Jeffrey P. Kazelunas, 70, of 9 Wildwood Ave., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born May 22, 1954 in Westfield, NY, a son of the late Bernard and Helen Hardenburg Kazelunas, and graduated from Chautauqua High School in 1972 where he was a member of the band and ran cross country.
Jeff was the owner and operator of KLS Patternworks. He was an exceptionally talented and highly skilled machinist, pattern maker, engineer and artisan. Jeff was particularly proud of his pattern work to create fine brass reproduction hardware that can be seen in Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater home and the Darwin D. Martin house in Buffalo, NY.
Jeff was a perfectionist in everything he built and made. He was both a creative and scientific individual who loved challenging projects.
Beyond his skills in pattern making, Jeff was incredibly gifted in making one of a kind cabinetry and furniture including intricate inlaid wooden boxes made out of wood from the family property. He would spend hours building finely detailed boat and aircraft models from scratch, and also refurbishing bicycles.
Jeff enjoyed spending time on Chautauqua Lake cruising in his 1964 Peterborough wooden boat that always attracted compliments from those who appreciated the beauty of a classic wooden boat.
He is survived by his wife, Roslyn Sisley-Kazelunas whom he married April 26, 2004; three siblings Martha (Henry) Berman, Peter Kazelunas, and Sara (Richard) Hart; brothers-in-law: William (Barbara) Sisley, and Robert (Jodie) Sisley; sisters-in-law: Dianna (Joe) Palmeri, and Karen (Jerry) Weikle; and many nieces, and nephews.
Following Jeff’s wishes, no service or visitation will be observed.
Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
