Gary E. Wallin

Gary E. Wallin, 73, formally of Sinclairville, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in King William, VA, with his loving family by his side.

He was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Jamestown, NY, the son of Edwin and Isola (Rickard) Wallin.

A proud graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School District in 1969 and a graduate of Erie County Community College in 1971, he went on to serve his community with distinction. Gary had a 34-year career with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department working as a full-time road patrol officer, in the Civil Division, as a part-time court security officer, and as a valued member of the S.W.A.T. team.

Beyond law enforcement, Gary remained involved in his community. He was a lifetime member of the Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department, contributed his time as a board member for the Ellington Rod & Gun Club, and was an active member of the Ingjald Lodge #65 Vikings.

Gary’s life outside of work was filled with pursuits he loved most. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He took great joy in his softball, bowling, and golf leagues. Above all else, Gary cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Gary leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Judy; his daughter Robin Wallin (James Giaramito); his son, Terry (Bryelle) Wallin; and his grandson, Hudson Wallin. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Wallin.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Margie Powers and Donna Sischo.

A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1-4 PM at the Cassadaga American Legion located at 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, NY 14718.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice of Virginia.

Gary’s legacy of service, love, and friendship will be remembered for all who knew him.
