Edwin O. Anderson
Edwin O. Anderson, 72, of Kennedy, NY passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1952 in Jamestown, New York, the son of Clarence “Swede” Anderson and Gertrude McAloon Anderson, and resided in the family home until the time of his death.
Ed was a 1970 graduate of Falconer High School and also a 1988 graduate from SUNY Fredonia. He was most recently employed as a computer programmer for Chautauqua County. In earlier years he was employed at Monofrax Corporation, Creal Industries, and Agway.
Ed met the love of his life, Julie Erickson, in the late 1980s and they married on Aug. 27, 1988. A few years later, Ed was unexpectedly faced with the challenge of raising their infant daughter alone following the untimely death of Julie, with the support of loving family and friends.
Because of his daughter’s participation in the sport, Ed became a “superfan” of the game of soccer, including local, national, and international games. He also was an avid fan of all things “Star Trek.”
He had been an active member of the Kennedy Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Treasurer and Fire Police. He was a long-time member of the Vikings Lodge. He was raised in the Catholic Faith, and more recently attended First Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
Besides his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister.
He is survived by his daughter Linnea Christine Anderson, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Ron Przybelinski, a niece, a nephew, a great-niece and nephew, and a special cousin, Pamela Clark of Florida.
The funeral will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 AM in the Falconer Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Swanson from First Lutheran Church of Jamestown will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Thursday 6 to 8 PM in The Falconer Funeral Home and one hour prior the service on Friday.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Kennedy Volunteer Fire Department, 3590 Dailey Hill Road, Kennedy NY 14747, First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler Street, Jamestown NY 14701, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 91891, Washington DC 20090-1891 or a charity of one’s choice.
