Dorothy Sharp

She was born Nov. 14, 1943, in Smithfield, NC, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Strickland Capps.

Before her retirement she worked at Engelhard Industries in East Newark, NJ for several years and for The Post-Journal.

She loved spending time with her family, always hosting family gatherings and holiday parties. Dorothy loved going shopping.

Surviving is her husband Kyle Sharp whom she married June 12, 2010, but has been together over 30 years; her two daughters Vicki (James) Norman of Jamestown, Tina Harmon of Jamestown; her two sons Robert “Robbie” Harmon, and Richard Harmon both of Jamestown; her stepchildren Tina Brooks and Yvonne Stenstrom; her sister Joyce DiGuglielmo; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved and adored.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son Dennis Harmon Sr., her brother Lenny Capps; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 2 pm on Friday April 25, 2025, at the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received an hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 pm in the funeral home.
