MAYVILLE — Diana Lynn Stebbins, 77, of Lakewood, NY and formerly of Mayville, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 16, 1947, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late David Floyd Stebbins and Shirley J. Anderson Trippy.

She attended Mayville Central School. She had worked at the Mayville Division of Ethan Allen where she made cabinets. In earlier years she worked as a waitress in several local restaurants and also tied grapes at several local grape farms.

Diana was a member of the Lake Chautauqua VFW Post 8647, and the Mayville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, diamond painting, reading, and watching soap operas.

She is survived by her significant other, Butch Boardman of Jamestown, NY, her son, David (Corine) Best of Findley Lake, NY, two grandchildren, Nova and Collin Best, six siblings, Cheryl Gustafson of Mayville, NY, Carol (Brad) Samuelson of Ashville, NY, Connie (Mark Dudley) Huddle of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joesph (Tanya) O’Brien of Gallatin, TN, Cindy Miller of Jamestown, NY, and Ines Llorens of Argentina, six nieces and nephews, Trisha (Scott Olson) Delcamp, Cody Gustafson, Erik Samuelson, Brett Samuelson, Drew Huddle and Steven Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Donald Kreutz, two brothers, David Stebbins Jr and Carl Miller, two nephews, Daniel Huddle and Hunter O’Brien, and one brother-inlaw, Tom Gustafson.

The funeral will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville (139 S Erie St). The Rev. Daniel Prewitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service 10 to 11 AM, also at the funeral home.
