David E. Remington

David was born on Oct. 2, 1936, to Robert and Leola Quackenbush Remington. He was raised in Allegany State Park and maintained a deep love of the park throughout his lifetime which he demonstrated as an active member of the ASP Historical Society.

David married the late Alberta E. Shannon on Aug. 17, 1956, and they shared 66 years together.

David graduated from Randolph Central and JCC. He served in the US Army from 1956-1962.

Dave’s varied career included employment at Blackstone Corp., Chautauqua County Highway Department, Allegany State Park, and BOCES. He ended his work life as a realtor, taking pride in finding homes for his customers.

Dave enjoyed motorcycle riding, skiing, swimming, gardening, and BBQ cookery.

David is survived by two daughters, Faith Swanson, and Pamela Matheron as well as two grandchildren, Katelyn Carlson and Benjamin Swanson, all of Jamestown.

The memorial service for David will be at 4 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation for one hour prior to the service, from 3-4pm, on Saturday, May 3, at Lind’s.
