Ann Marie Venman

Ann Marie Venman
Ann Marie Venman, 78, of Russell, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Warren General Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 21, 1946 in Sugar Grove, PA, a daughter of the late Vincent R. and Marjorie Hoy Carlson.
Ann was a 1964 graduate of Eisenhower High School and attended Lancaster Bible College.
Prior to her retirement, she was a church secretary at Pequea Baptist Church in Gap, PA for many years before her and her husband, Rev. Walter E. Venman moved back to this area.
She is a member of Wiltsie Community Church and a former member of Clark’s Corners Community Church. At each church she attended she was dedicated to being involved in children’s education and children’s activities.
Ann enjoyed crafts, baking, and her children, your children, and frankly, everybody’s children. She is well-known for her whoopie pies, her hospitality, and her quick wit.
Ann and her husband Walter were married on April 3, 1965 in the Cable Hollow EUB Church and celebrated their 60th anniversary just last week.
Ann is survived by her husband, Rev. Walter E. Venman; four children, Tammy (Clint) Shondelmyer, Tracey (Joe) Zimmerman, Rev. Todd (Dawn) Venman, Tina (Mark) Carnahan; 14 grandchildren: Ethann (Tiffanie) Zimmerman, Tukker (Shira) Zimmerman, Alli (Dan) Mulder, Jose’ Zimmerman, Alena (Nate) Joline, Garrett (Abby) Shondelmyer, Madison (Tyler) Olszewski, Grant (Joelle) Venman, Ross (TerryLee) Venman, Jake Venman, Kayla Carnahan, Braden Carnahan, Kambri Carnahan, Kiley Carnahan; 11 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way); brother Jim (Tammy) Carlson; and three sisters: Suzanne Sweeney, Jeannie (Dick) Morando, and Chris (Larry) Welk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Michael Sweeney and a sister-in-law Sherian Carlson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Wiltsie Community Church, Russell, PA. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA.
Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Monday, April 14 at the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11 am in the church.
A life of this magnitude cannot be portrayed in a simple obituary. Those who know her are grateful that she is alive and well, and in a much better place – making her Savior smile just like she made all of us smile.
Memorials can be made to Wiltsie Community Church at 2981 Swede Hill Road, Russell, PA 16345.
