Alice’s door was always open to neighbors and visitors. The coffee pot was always on and her company never left hungry.
Alice formed strong bonds with her grandchildren and their memories of her are indelible. She never had an idle or wasteful moment, she used discarded clothes to craft beautiful quilts and braided rugs, which she entered and won many blue ribbons at the Cattaraugus County Fair.
After selling the dairy farm in 1976, she was recruited by her husband Harold to be his fishing buddy. They once caught 240 walleye in one season on the Kinzua River.
The stories are endless and she will be remembered as a phenomenon until her very end, where she was surrounded by what she would have wanted it to be, FAMILY.
