William Sebastian Gullotti
William Sebastian Gullotti, 96, of Jamestown, NY, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025. The son of the late Samuel and Sarah Mazzurco Gullotti, he was born in Jamestown on June 17, 1928.
Graduating from Jamestown High School in 1947, he furthered his education at Fredonia State College receiving his Bachelors Degree in Education and later his Masters Degree in Administration from St. Bonaventure University. While at Fredonia State, he played center on their basketball team.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, June Paolillo, on Sept. 3, 1951, and who preceded him in death on Aug 28, 2013.
He began his Jamestown Public School career teaching 6th Grade in Rogers Elementary. He then became the long-serving principal of Persell Elementary School, retiring in 1988.
Bill was a longtime communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. He was also active in several community organizations including the Jamestown Boys Club, the Jamestown BPU, The Resource Center, and the Jamestown City Council where he served as council president. He enjoyed many summers of golf, loved dancing with his wife and loved watching his family and grandchildren grow. He was also a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun and Optimist Clubs.
He is survived by his three children; Dr. Thomas (Karen) Gullotti , June (Dr. Todd) Jacobson, and Elizabeth (Daniel) Bracey, all of Jamestown. Also eight grandchildren – William (Susan) Gullotti, Maria Jacobson, Liza (Nicholas) Babcock, all of Jamestown; Benjamin Bracey of Mayville, Emily (Roger) Bracey Hatfield of Riverview, FL., Daniel Bracey of Venice Beach, CA, Anne (Michael) Dries of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and Karen (Robert) Cross of Kennedy, NY. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Matthew Gullotti; Hannah, Alexis, and Lydia Cross; Vivienne and Georgia Babcock; and Meadow Hatfield. Bill is also survived by his sister, Jeanette (Gordon) Carlson.
In addition to his wife, June, he was predeceased by his siblings: Carl Cappa, Mary Prinzi, Herbert Gullotti, Frank Gullotti, Alfred Gullotti, Dominic Gullotti, Sebastian Gullotti, Sam Gullotti, Joe Gullotti, Carmela Gullotti, Sarah Benedetto, and Anna Lee.
The family would like to thank Rosie, Kathy, and Jody for their kind genuine care, who made his last few months more enjoyable. They also thank Greg for his continued friendship with Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM, Saturday, March 8th, in Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church, 270 Newton Ave., Jamestown, NY. The Rev. Paul Cygan will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held in the Lind Funeral Home from 4 – 7PM on Friday, March 7.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jamestown Boys & Girls Club, Holy Apostles Parish, The Resource Center, or charity of one’s choice.
