Thomas F. Schutte
Thomas F. Schutte, 89, of Jamestown, formerly of Ipswich, MA and Brooklyn, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. The husband of Tess L. Schutte and father of Douglas L. and David L. Schutte, he had served as president of Pratt Institute for 24 years, the Rhode Island School of Design, the Philadelphia College of Art, and assistant dean of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
His funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30 in Bellinger Chapel of Jamestown’s First Presbyterian Church. The family will greet friends in fellowship hall of the church following the service Sunday. A private burial will take place at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford, NY.
