Thomas A. Tedesco, 100, of Jamestown passed away Sunday (March 23, 2025) in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident he was born June 18, 1924 in Falconer, the son of the late Anthony and Rose Marie Pagano Tedesco.

Tom attended Falconer High School and was a graduate of Jamestown Business College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Army-Air Force during WWII from 1943 to 1945 in Ireland, England, France, and Germany. In 2022 Tom was recognized at the Fenton Historical Society for his service to his country by the Chautauqua County Legislator, and NYS Senator George Borrello. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the fourth-highest individual miliary award for valor; the Good Conduct Medal; the American Campaign Medal; the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze service stars; the World War II Victory Medal; the combat Infantryman Badge, and the Honorable Service Lapel Button. In addition, from the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs, he received the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross and Medal for Merit.

Prior to retirement he was employed by the former Cresent Tool, and the former Blackstone Corporation retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church serving as Eucharistic Minister, Head Usher for 25 years, and was a member of the Holy Name Society of OLL. Tom was also a member of the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion.

Surviving is a son, Anthony T. (Grecia) Tedesco of Cumming, GA; three daughters: Roseann M. (Paul) Carlson of Venice, FL, Patricia D. (Daniel) Lindfors of Jamestown, Kathleen J. (Lonnie) Buresh of Scottsdale, AZ; 15 grandchildren: Lisa (John) Vanstrom, Christopher (Laura) Carlson, Kevin Tedesco, Kurt (Amy) Tedesco, Shawn (Sarah) Tedesco, Scott (Suzanne) Harding, Todd (Leeanna) Harding, Ryan Lindfors, Michael (Danielle) Tedesco, Theresa Tedesco, Joseph T. Tedesco, Matthew Buresh, Jennifer (Douglas) Daniel, Tommaso Tedesco, Anthony Tedesco Jr.; 17 great grandchildren: Christian (Danielle) Jones, Alexander Jones, Jackson and Justin Vanstrom, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Aiden Carlson, Tyler and Sophia Tedesco, Ethan Harding, Avary and Aiden Harding, Alexander and Madison Tedesco, Douglas, Timothy and Athanasius Daniel; and a sister Joyce T. Judski of Binghamton, NY.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nina Petrina Lograsso Tedesco whom he married June 25, 1949, who died February 4, 2020; and a son Joseph A. Tedesco on October 17, 2016; a granddaughter Donna Jones on March 4, 2024; his brother William B. Tedesco, and sister Augustina T. “Darlene” Flint.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2025 in Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church, Falconer. Rev. Don Watkins will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Silver Creek, NY.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home.
