Paul Snyder

Paul Snyder
Paul Snyder, 47, passed away suddenly on March 9, 2025, in Bemus Point, New York. Born on August 3, 1977, in Florence, South Carolina to Gail Monroe Johnson and Stewart “Bud” Snyder. Paul lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and the great outdoors.
Paul was a devoted husband to Becca Snyder and a loving father to Lilly Snyder, 17, and Charlie Snyder, 14. His family was the center of his world. The pride he had for his family knew no bounds. He adored watching Lilly perform on her dance team, while cheering Charlie on in baseball. Being their Dad was the greatest honor and joy of his life.
He is also survived by his mother, Gail Johnson; father, Stewart and Sandy Snyder; and brothers Kristopher (Melissa) Johnson and Bradon Johnson; nieces and nephews–Austin, Hailey, Adam Johnson; Jaydian, Saydee, Amari, and Oliver Johnson; Holly Snyder, the mother of his children and his lifelong best friend of 40 years, Andy (Amber) Georgakis.
Paul is preceded in death by his father Gary Johnson; and grandparents Lowell and Alda Monroe, Vern & Eleanor Johnson and Stewart and Lois Snyder.
Paul’s family and friends held a special place in his heart. His heart was full when he was surrounded by the love and laughter that filled the room when everyone was together. He was so proud of the many accomplishments of his brothers, nephews and nieces and always celebrated their successes with great pride. He found much joy in watching his nephew, Jaydian, succeed on the basketball court with the Jamestown varsity team.
Paul was a man of unwavering faith who lived each day knowing the love of Jesus. He shared that faith openly with those around him and found great joy in spreading kindness and compassion wherever he went. His belief guided him through life’s challenges and triumphs alike.
An avid outdoorsman, Paul found peace in nature. Whether fly fishing on quiet waters or hiking through the wilderness, he embraced every opportunity to experience God’s creation. He loved ice fishing in the winter months and camping under the stars during warmer seasons. Canoeing down winding rivers or trekking through rugged trails brought him immense joy.
A passionate Buffalo Bills fan, Paul rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his team. He attended as many home games as possible and relished sharing those experiences with family and friends. His enthusiasm for football was infectious–his love for the game extended beyond just watching; it was about camaraderie and creating lasting memories.
Paul dedicated over two decades of his career to Chautauqua County before transitioning to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities as Deputy General Manager. Most recently, he brought his expertise and passion to EcoStrategies. His professional journey reflected his commitment to serving his community and making a meaningful impact through his work.
Paul’s legacy is one of faithfulness, love for family, appreciation for nature’s beauty, and an unwavering devotion to those he held dear. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
