Kenneth A. Prince

Kenneth A. Prince

Kenneth A. Prince, 82, of Lakewood, NY, completed his earthly journey Wednesday March 12, 2025 while at home. He was the son of Harold and Beverly (Austin) Prince, both deceased. Ken graduated from Brocton High School in 1960 and Jamestown Community College with an Associate’s degree, where he met his loving wife of 61 years Beverly Ann Bailen. They married on February 8, 1964. Ken was employed at Klings and later at Blackstone-Titanx Engine Cooling, for 44 years in Quality Control, Layout Inspector. Starting as Vice President of UAW Union of Office Employees of Quality Control and Logistics, later becoming President until his retirement. He was a member of the Moose Club, Rod and Gun Club, and the First Presbyterian Church. Ken enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and adult softball. He enjoyed working in his yard landscaping and gardening, fishing with family, and playing poker with friends. He also enjoyed being commissioner of his Fantasy Football League. He was fond of all the cookies from the kitchen of the best neighbors Jim and Sharon Blum.

Ken was a very family-oriented man, devoted husband; he penned a poem in each card his wife Beverly received. He was proud of all his children for the way they handled their various trials and tribulations of life. He was alway there for his grandchildren as a soundboard and confidant. One of his greatest joys was watching his great- grandchildren’s sports game. Ken was known for the 3C’s (calm, cool and collected) in his advice to his children and now known to be 5C’s to grandchildren and great-grandchildren (compromise and click). He shared his gift of music playing his Gibson “Hummingbird” Guitar in the evenings with friends while the children were sleeping. (Ha ha, they were listening to every word, the best lullabies ever.) He passed the guitar basics to his son Daniel and was amazed at the talent he has shown. There were many family and friends bringing their guitars, harmonicas and voices to the gatherings especially at the cottage. He was surprised by all the wonderful singing voices his family has with a CD made for his 65th birthday. His family celebrated Christmas with another singalong on Christmas Eve with their made-up “Nutt’n for Christmas” verses. He kept a very good track of who did not pick their Christmas carol to sing, but the night always ended with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. Over his life he has earned the special names: “Music Man, Head

Elf and the Leader of the Band” from family members. His bonds with his sons-in-law were formed over sports and music. His life advice with subtle witty comments will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His music will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. He enjoyed many high school football games, scouting for his brother the coach of the Brocton Bulldogs.

Ken and Family would like to thank all the people who assisted in his care. Special thanks to the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Dept.
