Frank J. Paloncy Jr. of Spring Creek, PA passed away at home March 4, 2025. He was born in Spring Creek, PA, on May 10, 1938 to Frank and Celia Kasper Paloncy. Frank was a very intelligent man and a very hard worker. One of his greatest accomplishments was building and resurrecting his sawmill, Upton Lumber Company that he co-owned with his good friend, Larry Upton. They owned and operated the mill for 50-plus years. Frank was the Head Sawyer. He kept all of the saws sharpened; and, he did all of the mechanical work, and the bookkeeping. He took great pride in his workmanship; and, he knew how to cut the trees and remove them without damaging the property. He competed in many woodsman competitions at the Warren County Fair where he received many belt buckles. He also enjoyed his farm and his beef cattle that he had over the years. Surviving are two daughters, Terrie Larson of Busti, NY and Debbie Thompson of Jamestown, NY; two granddaughters, Nicole (Mike) Weaver of Panama, NY and Katie (Scott) Weilacher of Busti, NY; two grandsons, Levi Mitchener of Jamestown, NY and Jim Larson of Busti, NY; four great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; a brother, John Paloncy of Pittsfield, PA; a sister, Mary Cottrell of Pleasantville, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Paloncy in 1994, a granddaughter, Angel Paloncy in 1985, and a son-in-law, Dan Larson in 2017 and many aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received at McKinney Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 W. Main St., Youngsville, PA, on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 4 -7 pm where a prayer service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 1 pm with the Rev. Father Richard Tomasone, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Warren, PA. Those wishing to place memorial contributions may do so to the American Heart Association.
